Bloody banknote saves abductee

Police uncovered an extortion racket in Shangrao when a cleaner found a banknote with"110", the number for the police hotline, written on it in blood. The sanitation worker called police on Jan 18 after finding the 100 yuan ($15) bill at a building materials market. Police searched the market and found a man, surnamed Sun, who was being held against his will by six others. Sun said he dropped the banknote after being taken prisoner by the gang, which had demanded money for his release.
