Gas poisoning kills 9 at steel plant
Gas poisoning killed nine people at an iron and steel plant in Liupanshui city on Wednesday, local authorities said on Thursday. The accident occurred at around 7:30 pm when workers were conducting an overhaul of equipment at Shougang Shuicheng Iron and Steel Co. Another two suffered effects from the gas but had no life-threatening conditions after medical treatment.
