Paid leave for workers
By the end of 2017, eight provincial-level regions had legislated to ensure paid leave for single-child workers to visit and care for their parents, said the Office of the National Seniors' Work Committee. The eight provincial-level regions are the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Chongqing municipality, and the provinces of Heilongjiang, Fujian, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong and Hainan. The length of paid leave ranges from 10 to 20 days, depending on circumstances. Each single-child worker can take up to 20 paid days off a year to look after their parents. Non-single-child workers can take 10 days of paid leave annually to be with their parents.
