New team takes reins at Unigroup Spreadtrum

A management team has taken charge of Unigroup Spreadtrum RDA, which was formed by merging two affiliates of technology group Tsinghua Unigroup Co Ltd. Spreadtrum Communications Inc, which has made advances in 2G, 3G, and 4G wireless communications over the years, and RDA Microelectronics Inc, a semiconductor company, recently announced their merger. Zeng Xuezhong (pictured), former CEO of Spreadtrum, is the CEO of the merged entity. Wang Jingming, former Spreadtrum vice-president, was appointed COO, while Wei Shuran, former CEO of RDA, was appointed CTO.
