Editor's Note: This year marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up policy.
From avocados to durians, people can find various exotic fruits on market shelves today.
Demand for imported fruits has been increasing as the middle-class population expands. From January to November, China imported more than 4 million metric tons of fresh fruit, up 12 percent year-on-year, according to the latest statistics from the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce.
