Freight train boosts ties with Europe
The China-Europe express freight train has more than doubled the number of trips it made in 2016 and has played an important role in boosting trade ties between the two sides. It made 3,673 trips in 2017, exceeding the total in the previous six years, said Yan Pengcheng, a spokesman of the National Development and Reform Commission. Initiated in March 2011, the service is expected to rise to annual 5,000 trips in 2020.
