Society: Alibaba to pay well for elderly 'opinion leaders'

Young techies take note: You are not the only ones earning high salaries. Alibaba plans to pay 350,000 yuan to 400,000 yuan ($54,700 to $62,500) in annual salaries to two employees aged 60 and above to work for its e-commerce platform Taobao in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. According to a job ad last week, the internet giant wants to hire what it calls "investigators" to help Taobao collect data on its new customized shopping platform that will enhance interaction among family members. Applicants should be group influencers, such as "key opinion leaders", and have more than three years online shopping experience.
