Tech: Self-driving container straddle carrier in tests

Every major port has a container straddle carrier. They carry containers suspended from their frame and place them on trucks. Now a self-driving carrier, jointly developed by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry and Westwell Lab, is being tested in Shanghai. Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry hopes to have the new self-driving straddle carrier in use by June, with a full fleet operational by the end of this year.
