US President Donald Trump is at it again. Or should I say he is a little behind schedule given his penchant for creating controversy almost every week. Last week, he almost surprised the world, although in a positive way, by saying he was ready to talk with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and the United States could "conceivably" rejoin the 2015 Paris climate agreement if a better deal could be reached.

Trump, however, was then back to his usual self, describing Haiti, El Salvador and the entire continent of Africa as "shitholes", shocking the world and drawing the indignation of people and media outlets across the world.

Haiti, during Paul Magloire's presidency, became a favorite tourist spot for Americans and Europeans. Thanks to his strong anticommunist policies, he got a lot of help from the US, both in funds and policies.
