LIMA - Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski has pardoned former leader Alberto Fujimori, clearing him of convictions for human rights crimes and graft before completion of a 25-year prison sentence.
The decision triggered a Christmas Eve protest in Lima, where police fired tear gas at scores of Fujimori' opponents.
At least two ministers in Kuczynski's Cabinet told him they wanted to resign, and Kuczynski might reshuffle the Cabinet as early as this week, a government source said.
