Employment hits record high, as 10m new jobs are added

China's employment rate in the first three quarters of 2017 hit a record high, with more than 10 million new jobs added to the economy between January and September, according to a report by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The period saw about 300,000 more jobs created than in the same period last year, the report said.

The total number of employed people hit 776 million in 2016, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
