Society: Polish scientists give honor to Chinese professor

Sun Dawen, a professor at South China University of Engineering, was elected as a foreign academician by the Polish Academy of Sciences at a recent plenary meeting. It is the highest academic honor Poland gives to foreign residents, and the fifth academician title Sun has won so far. Sun, a member of the central committee of the China Zhi Gong Party - one of the country's eight non-Communist political parties - is director of the Research Center of Modern Food Engineering at South China University of Engineering.
