Tokyo politicians visit for exchanges
Two heavyweights of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito left Tokyo for Xiamen, Fujian province, on Sunday, for the exchange between the Chinese and Japanese ruling parties.
During their seven-day visit, LDP Secretary General Toshihiro Nikai and his Komeito counterpart Yoshihisa Inoue are expected to meet with high-ranking Chinese officials including President Xi Jinping and Song Tao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, according to Japanese media.
The two Japanese politicians are expected to exchange views with the CPC on Japan's possible cooperation with China's Belt and Road Initiative. They are accompanied by Japanese business executives, such as Sadayuki Sakakibara, chairman of Japan Business Federation.
