Snow leopards caught on camera

Images of snow leopards have been recorded for the first time in eastern parts of the Tibet autonomous region. A total of 20 infrared cameras installed within a 100-square-kilometer area in the Nujiang River Valley have captured footage of the big cats several times since November, local authorities said on Monday. Snow leopards are a Class A protected animal in China and are classified as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
