Boom time ahead for livestreaming

Livestreaming and e-sports industries will witness rapid development in China next year, said a new report from Deloitte Consulting. China's livestreaming market could see an 86 percent year-on-year growth in revenue next year to $4.4 billion, while globally the same would rise to $7.4 billion, the report said. Global revenue for the e-sports industry is forecast to exceed $1 billion in 2018, compared with just $325 million in 2015. In 2016, viewers watched an estimated six billion hours of e-sports content, with Chinese viewers accounting for 50 percent of the total. China's e-sports industry will account for 50 percent of the global market share in 2018, the report said.
