On the 80th anniversary of Nanjing Massacre, 80 Chinese community leaders gathered on Tuesday in Toronto, Canada, to pay tribute to the 300,000 victims of invading Japanese troops.
The public memorial event - which included a moment of silence, a candlelight vigil and bouquet presentation - joined a host of memorials worldwide, according to Wang Haicheng, organizer and president of the Nanjing Fellow Association of Canada.
The 80 Chinese also announced a peace initiative, calling for world peace and love, and for history never to be repeated.
