Dongfeng Infiniti plant to localize SUV production
A fresh premium SUV model is set to be locally produced from 2018 in a newly constructed plant in Dalian, Liaoning province. It is Dongfeng Infiniti's second local production base in China, after the Xiangyang plant in Hubei province. Located in the Dalian Free Trade Zone, the base now employs more than 1,400 people. The completed first phase has an annual production capacity of 110,000 vehicles. Dongfeng Nissan Dalian Base obtained its Infiniti qualification certificate in March, meaning its manufacturing capability and quality control have reached a globally advanced level and fully possess Infiniti's localization capability.
Beijing Hyundai's Encino stages debut in Guangzhou
A high performance model built on a global platform, Beijing Hyundai's Encino, made its China premiere last week at the Guangzhou auto show with localized innovative modifications. The Encino is designed to be a trend-setting vehicle taking customers' mobility demands and experience into full consideration. It will come with strong power, a smart interface and armor-like safety, according to the Beijing-based carmaker. The Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection engine and dual-clutch transmission gives a robust output and fuels a passion in driving. As another masterpiece in the joint venture's Localization 2.0 strategy, the new model is expected to enter a new market segment with its unique glamor.
Dongfeng Renault backs Women's Super Cup
The Wuhan, Hubei province-based Sino-French joint venture extended its sponsorship of China's Women's Super Cup to three years, until the 2019 season. Both partners saw that their lack of fear in facing challenges were shared. The Chinese Football Association now uses the Dongfeng Renault Kadjar as the official vehicle for the Women's Super Cup. The company maintained its focus on sports into keep injecting passion to customers' lives this year. After realizing its 60,000-vehicle sales target by October, two months ahead of schedule, Dongfeng Renault is now aiming to sell 70,000 vehicles this year.
