Ex-publicity official probed

Lu Wei, former vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has been placed under investigation for suspected severe disciplinary violations, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection - the country's top anti-graft watchdog - announced on its website on Tuesday night. It did not provide details. Lu, 57, was the head of the Cyberspace Administration from 2013 to 2014. He became vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee in 2014.
