Energy storage, technology will be focus of Beijing fair

The second Beijing International Energy Storage Technology and Application Fair will be held in Beijing from Wednesday to Friday. China aims to boost its large-scale energy storage capacity over the next decade, the National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement released last month. Energy storage technologies - which include batteries, thermal storage, pumped hydro, and more - can help integrate wind and solar on to the grid by storing energy when power demand is low, and discharging it when demand is high.
