Man detained as property pest

A man, surnamed Yao, was detained after harassing the buyer of his apartment in Hangzhou. His target, surnamed Zhou, bought the 130-square-meter property after gambling debts forced Yao to sell for 600,000($90,380) in 2014. Zhou recently refused an offer of 700,000 yuan from Yao to buy it back. The suspect resorted to cutting off the dwelling's electricity to apply pressure on Zhou, but he was detained after his alleged victim called police. Property prices in Hangzhou and other major cities have soared in recent years.
