AI joins war on fake news

SEOUL - After playing Go and poker and doing household chores, artificial intelligence might next be used to weed out fake news from cyber space.

Scientists are hopeful that AI might be able to sift through the vast pool of online information and discern which news is fake and which is true - or at least closer to the truth.

A research presentation on the topic was made last week at KAIST, a public research university in Daejeon, South Korea.
