Frenchman's future in balance as he awaits punishment for fan attack

MARSEILLE, France - Patrice Evra was due to find out his disciplinary fate this weekend, with the Frenchman in danger of being fired by Marseille and heavily sanctioned by UEFA for aiming a karate kick at one of his team's own fans.

The fiery 36-year-old former Manchester United defender was red-carded for his violent reaction to being taunted by Marseille fans during the prematch warm-up at last week's Europa League game against Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal.
