Senior legislator investigated
Meng Wei, vice-chairman of the Environment Protection and Resources Conservation Committee of the 12th National People's Congress, is being investigated on suspicion of severe disciplinary violations. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection made the announcement on its website on Friday. Meng formerly headed the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences.
