Services trade rises in first nine months

Trade in services surged in China by 8.8 percent year-on-year to 3.44 trillion yuan ($518.7 billion) between January and September, the Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday. In the first nine months, trade in emerging sectors' services totaled 1.05 trillion yuan, up 10.3 percent year-on-year. Export of such services grew by 8.5 percent. Import and export of telecommunications, computer and information services amounted to 231.9 billion yuan, up 25.2 percent from the same period last year.
