China Daily | Updated: 2017-10-25 07:24

HUANGSHAN, Anhui province - Former pool prodigy Ye Shiwen is reaping the benefits of her more study-focused life after rediscovering her mojo at the Chinese National Swimming Championships in Huangshan.

The 21-year-old Tsinghua University law student, having finally adjusted to the demands of juggling her education and training, clinched her first national title on Sunday in the 100m breaststroke, then took gold in the 200 breaststroke on Monday.

Since shooting to fame with two golds at the 2012 London Olympics, Ye has struggled at major championships, so this week's feats have come as a pleasant surprise for the Hangzhou native.
