Xi offers fresh thinking for a new era

Editor's note: The Communist Party of China has just concluded its 19th National Congress in Beijing. China Daily asked five prominent experts for their views on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which was introduced at the congress.

General Secretary Xi Jinping said China has embarked on a "new era" in its development while spelling out a two-stage development plan. What do you think of that? What is happening in China that impresses you the most?

I like the two-stage development plan proposed by Xi and believe it is feasible. As Xi said, "It will take the great determination of the whole nation." I am extremely impressed with the country's vigorous and creative approach to innovation. China is an innovation nation.
