Delegates bring 'voice of the people' to help steer Party

China Daily | Updated: 2017-10-18 07:30

More than 2,200 delegates are gathering in Beijing to attend the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which starts on Wednesday.

The congress will review the Party's work over the past five years and map out what needs to be done in the next five years and beyond.

Zhao Qinghua, head nurse at First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, brought three documents to Beijing - a speech given by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, during a tour of Chongqing in 2016; her personal observations about medical reform in Chongqing; and a report on healthcare for the elderly.
