Gaming whizzes Zhan, Chen, Wu join Alibaba

Alibaba Group appointed several sector luminaries to its new gaming unit. Zhan Zhonghui, founder of Guangzhou Ejoy Information Technology Co Ltd and former COO of NetEase, an internet technology player in China, will lead Alibaba's interactive entertainment business. Zhan joined Net-Ease in 1999 and began his own business in 2011. His team grew from 10 to 4,000 in the last six years. Chen Weian and Wu Yunyang, operators of several hot games, such as the Fantasy Westward Journey and the World of Warcraft, will also join Alibaba.
