Cooperation urged on human rights

A delegation of China Foundation for Human Rights Development, headed by its director Huang Mengfu, paid a visit to the European country on Sept 21-23, at the invitation of the Italian Senate. During their visit, Huang introduced the achievements China has obtained in human rights and expressed a strong desire of Beijing to pursue a win-win development at this field with the rest of international community, which was high appraised by local officials and experts.

Kushner used personal email

US President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, used his personal email account on dozens of occasions to communicate with colleagues in the White House, his lawyer said on Sunday. The use of a private email account to discuss government matters is a politically fraught issue that factored prominently in last year's presidential election. Trump repeatedly attacked Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton for setting up a private email server as secretary of state.

'World's heaviest woman' dies

An Egyptian believed to be the world's heaviest woman died on Monday of heart and kidney failure at an Abu Dhabi hospital. A team of more than 20 doctors had been caring for Eman Ahmed Abd El Aty since her arrival at Burjeel Hospital in May. El Aty, in her mid-30s, had not left her house in more than two decades and weighed around 500 kilograms.
