More efforts to probe sources of pollution

The General Office, under the State Council, issued a guideline on Sep 21 for the second nationwide investigation on pollutants, which is scheduled to start on Dec 31. The guideline aims at strengthening supervision on pollution, enhancing environmental quality, and reinforcing pollutant-related risk control.

The purpose of this round of investigation is to learn basic information about all kinds of pollutants. This includes the quantity of pollutants, their location, areas, origin, process of formation and discharging channels.
