Chinese tourists' love affair with Egypt continues

LUXOR, Egypt - The country of pyramids is eager to tap into the Chinese market to revive its ailing tourism industry, said Mohamed Badr, governor of Luxor governorate, Egypt.

In an interview with Xinhua, Badr noted that the number of Chinese tourists has already notably increased after the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Egypt in early 2016.

The Chinese president toured Luxor during his visit, and the attendant media coverage helped attract more Chinese tourists to Luxor, he said.
