Guangzhou Evergrande saw its lead at the top of the Chinese Super League trimmed to six points as Luiz Felipe Scolari's side was held to a 2-2 draw by Jiangsu Suning on Sunday.
Wang Song scored three minutes from time to earn Fabio Capello's team a share of the points, allowing second-place Shanghai SIPG to stay in contention for a dramatic late run at the title, with five games remaining.
Ricardo Goulart put Evergrande in front before Yang Boyu equalized, but Alan Carvalho's 75th-minute goal looked set to seal a sixth straight league triumph for the six-time champion.
