Car wing mirrors stolen for ransom

Police in Nanchang county have launched an investigation into a spate of thefts after numerous car owners reported having their wing mirrors stolen. The victims said they found notes attached to their windshields, demanding payment in return for the stolen wing mirrors. A contact number and WeChat account ID were included in the note for the victims to get in touch. Some victims, who paid the ransom, said they were told to look for their stolen wing mirrors in nearby trash cans or long grass.
