Falling mouse disrupts meal

A Sichuan-style hotpot restaurant in the Wujiaochang area of the city was closed for a day on Aug 18 after a mouse fell from the ceiling onto one of the dining tables, frightening customers. Exterminators were working in the building at the time, tackling a pre-existing rat problem, according to the restaurant manager. The restaurant was closed by the city's Yangpu district sanitation department after the incident, but was allowed to reopen the next day when an inspection determined it met hygiene standards.
