Fugitive returned to face trial

One of the nation's most-wanted economic fugitives, who is suspected of embezzling 300 million yuan ($45 million), was captured and returned to China to face trial, according to the Communist Party of China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on Friday. Han Lu was escorted back to China on Thursday night after spending 20 years on the run in Africa, according to the CCDI. Han, a former senior manager at a State-owned company in Changsha, Hunan province, used his position to embezzle public funds worth 300 million yuan in 1996 and 1997 before fleeing overseas.
