Free noodles follow successful proposal

Residents and tourists flocked to a noodle restaurant in Bayi Road after a young man, surnamed Wang, paid for 5,000 bowls of sour and hot rice noodles on Aug 15. Wang, who comes from Guangdong, spent more than 35,000 yuan ($5,245) on noodles after successfully proposing to his girlfriend - with a little help from restaurant workers. Wang lost his bag, which contained a diamond ring, while having rice noodles in the restaurant. But a member of staff found the ring, valued at 300,000 yuan, and returned it to him the next day.
