Fatalities blamed on loose management

Loose management was to blame for deaths and injuries in a landslide at a coal mine in Shanxi province, the country's work safety watchdog said on Sunday. A slide at an open pit of the Lyuxin mine in Heshun county on Aug 11 left eight people dead, one missing and one injured. The State Administration of Work Safety said in a statement that the mining company continued operating even though there were signs that a slide might occur, and it covered up the fatalities after the accident.
