Tree-planting move backed by Hyundai
The Chinese branch of Hyundai Motor Co, the automobile company based in South Korea, organized a tree planting exercise for 120 college students between late July to early August in areas in the northern Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Launched in 2008, the project is expected to have planted a total of 90 million square meters of vegetation by 2018. The company said the project aimed to reestablish biological diversity and recover the ecological system of the deserts.
