Worker reports fake crime to get off work

A man in Guiyang, surnamed Gao, was fined 200 yuan ($30) and placed in a detention house for five days for raising a false alarm on July 2. Police attended the scene after Ma reported that he had been stabbed and robbed of all his belongings by three men in an alley in the city's Nanming district. Ma was detained after surveillance video footage indicated he had lied. He admitted raising a false alarm, saying that his motive was to get time off work. The automobile repair worker said his employer had not allowed him to take leave for many years.
