People: A railway journey that changed one man's life

Rail travel has always been, and still is, Bruce Connolly's preferred way to travel. Exactly 30 years ago, he arrived in China by train on a journey from Glasgow, Scotland, to Hong Kong's Hung Hom Station. That journey was also a life changer. If he had not taken the train, his China story would never have happened - 30 years later the country remains his adopted home.
