Item from July 12, 1999, in China Daily: China will train more people in business skills to cope with the challenges posed by the rapidly developing knowledge-based economy.

China has just 9,000 MBA graduates, whereas the United States trains 70,000 students each year.

The Master of Business Administration program was introduced in China in 1991. Now there are more than 230 courses offering MBA degrees.
