Books donated to poor children

Netizens read stories and recorded them through an online platform, in an initiative to buy books for children in poor areas. In three weeks, more than 300,000 people uploaded their audio files on 7mtt.com, raising funds to donate about 7,000 picture books by the end of June. The event was organized by Dolphin Media, the publisher of children's books. In the first batch of donations, the publisher donated books worth 1 million yuan ($147,000) to about 200 primary schools in five regions, including Liangshan in Southwest China's Sichuan province and Qingyang in Northwest China's Gansu province.
