Short Torque InMotion invests $25m in Lyft app
InMotion, Jaguar Land Rover's mobility services business, has announced a $25 million investment in Lyft, the fastest-growing rideshare company in the United States. This investment will support Lyft's expansion and technology plans, according to Jaguar Land Rover. It will also provide InMotion with the opportunity to develop and test its mobility services, including autonomous vehicles. InMotion said personal mobility and smart transportation is evolving and the new collaborative venture will provide a real-world platform to help develop connected and autonomous services.
Audi sees slight fall, expected to recover
Audi sold 48,012 cars in China in May, a 4 percent fall year-on-year. The German automaker said it was influenced by negotiations with its dealers and partners on future collaborations, which have been brought to a successful conclusion. "The last few days of May have already shown that we will see sales recover rapidly in China and that we will quickly get back to our former market position," said Dietmar Voggenreiter, Audi's board member for sales and marketing. In the first five months of the year, a total of 202,885 cars were sold in China, down 15.2 percent year-on-year.
