CCB's first branch in Malaysia opens

State-owned China Construction Bank opened its first branch in Malaysia on Friday, in a ceremony witnessed by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and business leaders and other government officials. CCB became the third Chinese bank - after Bank of China and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China - to have banking operations in the country. In his opening speech, CCB Chairman Wang Hongzhang said the group sees Malaysia as an important hub to expand its business into its international markets. He added that the establishment of a branch in Malaysia would accelerate CCB's global transformation.
