Airstrikes kill 16 civilians in Raqqa

At least 16 people were killed on Wednesday by US-led airstrikes on positions of the Islamic State(IS) group in Syria's northern city of Raqqa, a monitor group reported. The airstrikes targeted areas west of Raqqa, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Earlier in the day, the observatory said that 16 civilians have been killed over the past 24 hours as a result of explosions of mines in Raqqa countryside.
