Continental launches General Tire in China
Continental Tires has introduced its sub-brand General Tire to China in response to the growing popularity of SUVs in the world's largest automotive market. Currently, it is offering six products in the country, with three of them - from the Grabber series - designed for SUVs. China sold 3 million SUVs in the first four months of the year, accounting for 40 percent of passenger cars sold in the country. General Tire brand was established in the United States in 1915 and was acquired by Continental in 1987.
