Sniffer dog finds fugitive in crowd

A fugitive, surnamed Yang, was recently detained after his scent was recognized in a crowd by a police sniffer dog in Wuding county. Yang, who was put on a police wanted list in connection with several thefts in March, seldom visited internet cafes or used a mobile phone, making it difficult for police to track him down. Police had previously obtained an item of Yang's clothing, which they let the dog sniff in the hope it would recognize his scent at a later date.
