The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade will complete thorough research on the laws and regulations in countries and regions related to the Belt and Road this year to ensure Chinese outbound direct investment faces fewer risks, according to officials.
As well as studying the laws in different countries and regions, the commercial environment, political situation and disparities between the markets in economic zones and non-economic zones in each country or region will be assessed.
Lin Shunjie, director-general of the council's department of trade and investment promotion, said the research will provide Chinese companies with more information about the markets they plan to invest in.
