Item from May 10, 1985, in China Daily: The celebrated Yellow Crane Tower, which was built during the Three Kingdoms (220-280), and last destroyed in 1884, has been rebuilt at its original site near the Yangtze River harbor of Wuhan, Hubei province. The tower is scheduled to open on May 20 after the last tier of its stone stairway is finished.

The Yellow Crane Tower, a historic landmark in Wuhan, attracts an estimated 2 million tourists each year.

In 2013, the tower was renovated for the first time in three decades, with all 120,000 glazed tiles replaced in the main building. After a 20-month work, the tower was reopened in 2015.
