43 militants killed in new operation

Forty-three armed militants were killed during the latest military operation in different Afghan provinces, the country's Interior Ministry said on Sunday. In the past 24 hours, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched eight counter-terrorism operations in Kunar, Wardak, Nangarhar, Zabul, Logar and Kunduz provinces. As a result, 43 armed militants were killed and eight others wounded," the ministry said in a statement. Among the killed militants, there were 17 fighters of the Islamic State group, the statement added. The security forces found and seized weapons, the statement said, without adding if there were any casualties on the side of security forces.
